Pain Points & Operational Challenges Solved
6 weeks
The average budgeting process that was never finished due to constant changes of ATM deployments and relocations
The company’s business was to deploy and operate a network of ATM machines, deployed progressively in several markets.
As a bank independent operator, the key challenge for the company was to achieve higher efficiency of its ATM network, compared to bank ATM networks, in order to operate a sustainable business. This involved achieving an optimal level of ATM operating costs (cost of leased space, card acquiring and processing services, cash and cash supply into ATMs, etc.) vis a vis a lower number of transactions that a bank network averages.
6 weeks
The average budgeting process that was never finished due to constant changes of ATM deployments and relocations
Management reporting included a record of newly deployed ATMs, the number of transactions and other value added services provided by ATMs, along with associated operating expenses. The company was seeking individual P&L and cash flow statements per ATM and visibility of the portfolio as a whole for each country and a consolidated view, including a detailed breakdown of each (service provided at the ATM). This required several third party txt based daily and monthly reports (FirstData, RBS, Visa & Mastercard) to be reconciled with accounting data (monthly records) and ATM operating records (cash, cash in transit, ATM deployment, etc.) – reported on weekly basis.
The reports were produced in slow performing excel, effectively leading to several unconnected files and producing company aggregate and selected data only. It took around 1 week to produce this incomplete report for the management. Budgeting took 6 weeks, however was effectively never finished due to the constant change with new ATM deployments, and ATM relocations.
